Choquequirao 5 days / 4 nights: $295

Choquequirao is another "lost city of the Incas" but is seldom visited. It's located high on a ridge spur almost 1500 m. above the Apurimac River. It is surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains such as Choqetacarpo, Yanama, Padreyoc, Huanipaca, Surusuru, and Sarasara. Located 30 km from Cachorra village, Choquequirao may have been the place where the last Inca, Tupac Amaru, was raised among Incan Priestesses. It was a place of high regard, as indicated by the characteristics of the architectural style. The remoteness and inaccessibility have discouraged visitors until a footbridge was constructed on the way to Choquequirao over the Apurimac River.
