ITINERARY DESCRIPTION
DAY 1: ROSALINAS
After breakfast we board the bus to the town of San Pedro de Cachora, which is 2,850 meters above sea level, traveling for approximately 4 hours we will arrive at that place, where we will meet our muleteers and horses, who will help us with transporting our personal luggage
Then we will start the walk towards the Capulichayoc pass (2,880 m) from where we will have the first view of Choquequirao in the distance in the front, above the Apurimac valley. Continuing we will descend to the place called Coca Masana (2330 meters above sea level), and then after 4 hours of walking we will arrive at the Rosalinas Beach camp (1550 meters above sea level), where we will stop the first night in tents
DAY 2: CHOQUEQUIRAO
We start our adventure at 6.00 a.m. in the direction of Chqiekirao, then we will cross the Apurimac River and begin the climb to Santa Rosa, zigzagging down a steep slope. This climb takes approximately 2 hours, and it is important that you leave early so that the heat does not make the walk more difficult.
DAY 3: CHOQUEQUIRAO TO PLAYA ROSALINA
Today we will continue enjoying the view of the Choquequirao complex: we will visit the upper part (Hanan), and the lower parts (Urin), accompanied by our Guide. After early lunch, we return to “Rosalinas”, where we camp.
DAY 4: PLAYA ROSALINA- CUSCO, OR SACRED VALLEY.
After breakfast, we start the ascent walk from two to three hours to the place called “Chiquisca”, then continue to the “Capuliyoc” pass, where we have our lunch of the day, then we continue on our way back for approximately two hours to the town from San Pedro de Cachora, where we will board our return bus for the return to the city of Cusco, or to Sacred Valley.
