RECOMMANDED GEAR FOR OUR TREKS AND TOURS

  • Facebook
  • Instagram

We recommend packing as light as possible, Taking the necessary and correct implements, Taking into account that the climate, temperature, and geography in the spaces that we travel with this service are quite varied;
Part of the tour will be through frigid places, especially at night. We recommend that you bring a backpack or a duffel bag to carry all your personal things (the one that normally stays in the hotel or in the warehouse, while we carry out daily activities), plus a small personal backpack for daily use.

ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

PASSPORT

Normally it is necessary to carry an original passport because you will need it to enter some places, where the control is strict.

SLEEPING BAGS

Some places on the route that we offer have campsites at a considerable height, for which we recommend you bring a good sleeping bag, you can also rent it here, which costs $7 USA per day including its lining or sheet, in winter it is quite cold, for which we recommend a 4-season sleeping bag (0-10-c), for other routes a 3-season sleeping bag works well, (0 -4 / -5 - C )…

SLEEPING MATTRESS

Peru Alive will provide you with foam mattresses, which are included in the price of the service; If you want to have more comfort, you can bring an inflatable mattress, or you can also rent it here, the cost is $3 or 4 USA, per day.

EXTRA SLEEPING CLOTHES

For very cold nights, it is advisable to bring long pants, a hat, and gloves, preferably made of fleece or another material that is to protect from the cold.
SLIPPERS OR SANDALS: Arriving at the camp you will need to take off your walking shoes, so that your feet rest or relax, for which we recommend that you take one of these, which are light.

WALKING POLES

The poles help to have less pressure on the knee when you walk down or up the steps, it also helps you to avoid possible slips, to help the strength of the legs with the arms, etc. But this depends on using it correctly. We recommend bringing a pair for each walker, otherwise, you can also rent it here, it costs $5 USA per day, for each pair.

WALKING SHOES

The most essential thing is that they are comfortable and as a second condition that they are of good quality. We recommend that your shoes have a high cane to protect your feet up to the ankles, that it has a good grip, so as not to slip easily, and if they are waterproof it will be better. We recommend not wearing new shoes, preferably try them on before starting the Trek to see if they are comfortable for you.

WATERPROOF CLOTHING

Depending on the season, we probably won't have rain on the route, especially in dry seasons, but you should keep in mind that the weather in the Andes of South America is very changeable. A jacket and waterproof pants will be better because, in some places of the route the rain comes with strong winds, a waterproof jacket also works as a second option; (here you can also buy plastic ponchos)

TOILET SUPPLIES

For very cold nights, it is advisable to bring long pants, a hat, and gloves, preferably made of fleece or another material that is to protect from the cold.
SLIPPERS OR SANDALS: Arriving at the camp you will need to take off your walking shoes, so that your feet rest or relax, for which we recommend that you take one of these, which are light.

WATER BOTTLE

Bring a canteen or a bottle, preferably aluminum or similar, this will help you carry water during the day of the walk, you can also use it to warm yourself at night to sleep, filling with hot water, (this bottle helps us to avoid using polluting disposables).
